One Hundred Days: Day Sixteen
Everyone wants to know, but how much detail should you really share? I am sensitive about this, as just about everyone I know has such a very busy schedule.
So here goes the short form:
Image here is the first layer of my after surgery cast being removed.
I didn’t take any more pictures after the cast was gone, as it was quite gross and who wants to share gross?
The swelling was not down enough to remove the stitches, so back again to SOC in Seattle next Tuesday & in the interim ice and elevate.
I did get fitted with a MaxTrax Air Walker boot by Kiyoshi, who had removed my cast.
Dr.Reed said he was pleased with the results as shown in the xrays but it would be 5 or 6 weeks before the xrays would show melding of bone and screws.
Xrays also indicated good bone consistency and strength. So this was not an “old person break” but bad luck!
On the side Dr.Reed said they screwed in the screws with a screw driver just like carpentry.
Conclusion: everything going well and after 9 days it’s not unusual for there still to be swelling.
Challenge: To figure out the boot
Challenge: To keep on the recuperation track.
Thanks to everyone for your emails, and calls and support.
