One Hundred Days: Day Thirty-Two

One-Size-Fits-All is all very well….. however with some products (and services) if you cant customize, one size does not fit at all. I am struggling with the MaxTrax boot which is in many ways a very innovative invention, and very workable substitute for having to wear a cast after broken bones have been fixed and are healing.

I am really pleased this boot was given me when the surgery cast was removed after 9 days, however now it’s a challenge to make my particular needs work within this one-size-fits all boot ~ well I should clarify there are in fact 3 or more sizes, and several models. I have small of the high boot style (upper right of the image), however the design of my particular boot needs to meet many applications or to suit different injuries.

It just so happens that the metal bars on either side of the exterior of the boot that act as a brace, are exactly where my ankle incisions are;eacatly where the hardware upgrade happened! So I stuff extra padding at those locations and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Danielle at SOC gave me some extra material to make “donuts” to help with this issue; so I gathered others must run into the same thing?

What I really need is an extra thick cashmere sock….well in fact I do…..sometimes this works sometimes nada!

Conclusion: Anyone reading my post today will say “Wow, you’re into picking nits…..so the recuperation journey must be progressing very well!

Challenge: To put more focus on real work…especially now I’ve been so well organized by my guardian angle Chef Sylvia (see previous two posts)
